Assumption's Early Childhood programs have a four star rating (out of five) for the voluntary Quality Rating System for preschools. This rating is based on the teacher education and experience, the activities and schedule of the classroom and health and safety compliances. Children in both classes learn through playing in the different learning centers - manipulatives, blocks, pretend play, art, computer, play-dough, messy play, library, listening and music center. During center time, the students receive individual attention on things they may be struggling with or helping to try some harder things that may challenge them.

In the Pre-School class there is a focus on a theme, letter, color, number and shape each week and planned activities related to the theme. ![]()

In the Pre-Kindergarten class there is a focus on a letter of the week along with a color, number, and shape and planned activities related to the letter of the week. ![]() |

Both classes go on field trips related to the theme or letter of the week. Some of the places they have visited are the fire station, pumpkin patch, goat farm, public library, post office and the dentist office.

Children in both classes have jobs within the classroom for example: line leader, counting children, checking the weather, snack helper.

Children in both classes attend music class twice a week with a music teacher and perform in the winter and spring programs.
|
In the spring, the Pre-K class has Spanish class once a week with a local resident whose native language is Spanish.
