| The 5th and 6th Grade students are studying motion in science class. The students are shown here using their newly gained knowledge to create marble roller coasters out of insulation. They tested and presented their roller coasters using the proper terms to the rest of the class. |

Congratulations to the Assumption Mock Trial team who competed against 44 schools in a statewide tournament on Wednesday Nov. 5th. Our team won BOTH of their trials and missed advancing by only half a point! Outstanding Attorney Awards were given to Nick Musich and Adam Darr. Outstanding Witness Awards were given to Emily Harney, JD Sims and Colin Creighton. Honorable Mentions were also received by Allyson Merry, Sydney Lyddon, Colin Creighton and Adam Darr. The competition team also consisted of Katelynn Major, Elizabeth Godwin and Margaret Creighton. Great job! |

| Third grader Parker Schmitz is doing a presentation on the Oregon Trail. He produced a multimedia presentation using several resources. It was a reading project that took two weeks to complete. This is a good example of differentiation in the classroom that is being promoted on a diocesan wide basis. |

| While focusing on the element of texture, the first and second graders went on a leaf hunt. After finding various types of leaves, they used the back of the leaves to make leaf print cards. These cards will then be sent to Patti Smith who is overseas in the military. | ![]() |

| On Wednesday, September 9th Assumption students were educated on bike safety and the proper way to wear backpacks to ensure good posture. Thank you to Officer Clemons, from the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and Theresa, from the Dallas County Hospital, for taking the time to educate our students. |
